EXCISE TAX EXEMPTION

Excise tax is levied on every aircraft purchase transaction and is due at time of registration, unless a valid North Dakota exemption applies. By continuing, you acknowledge the aircraft you are about to add to your North Dakota Aircraft Dealer License is not being flown for personal or commercial use.

 

This electronic application will allow you to upload or email a copy of your purchase agreement/proof of purchase, showing the amount paid for the aircraft and the chain of ownership, as required by a state audit.

To remain exempt from tax, you must upload or email a copy of the most recent, dated, maintenance record(s) of each demo aircraft. Documentation must display a DATE and TACH TIME at completion. If no recent maintenance record is available (within one year), and the aircraft is unairworthy (ie: rebuild), you must upload photo(s) showing the current condition of the aircraft, tail number, and a current photo of tach time (if possible). You must include the Proof of Purchase or Purchase Agreement.
