The purpose of this grant is to support Local Education Agencies (LEAs) in achieving alignment with the ND Dyslexia Screening and Intervention Law § 15.1-32-26 in strengthening comprehensive K–3 systems to identify and support students with characteristics of dyslexia through high-quality professional development of evidence-based practices.
This grant can fund districts to build educator knowledge and implementation of
- Dyslexia related reading difficulties, characteristics, and risk factors
- Implementing universal screening processes in grades K-3
- Establishing structured literacy–aligned instruction and intervention systems
- Developing clear pathways for evaluation and instructional diagnosis
- Strengthening progress monitoring and data-based decision-making to improve outcomes for students with dyslexia characteristics
State Funds Available: $170,000. Requests are recommended to fall in the range of $3,000 to $15,000.
